This goofy girl is hoping to land her new forever home that is filled with lots of walks and love. Willa came to us as a stray so we don't know her history, but here are a few things we have learned about her since she arrived:
Willa hasn't appeared to have had much training, so a confident guardian who can spend lots of time with her would be best. She is food motivated and we think she would learn quickly. Obedience classes will help her learn some basic skills and become bonded to you.
Willa will require an active home who can provide her with lots of exercise like hikes, long walks or runs (on leash of course). This is important to keeping her happy and will help prevent unwanted behaviours.
Willa can be fearful of new situations and people, so lots of socialization and desensitization using positive reinforcement will help her gain some more confidence and learn that new things can be fun!
Willa seems to be okay with other dogs given a proper introduction, so she may enjoy another canine friend to live with. We aren't sure how she feels about cats but think she may be best suited to a home without them.
Willa's best match would be an adult oriented home who has plenty of time to spend with her. She is young and very eager to learn and see what life has to offer, so come meet this quirky lady 12-4pm Tuesday-Saturday or contact our branch for more information.
