Nature and scope of work The Sander position is responsible to the Public Works Superintendent or his designate and the duties will include safe operation and minor maintenance of the sand truck. This position involves shift work. Specific duties &ndash Winter Operations &ndash Sand Truck Sanding and plowing City streets, sidewalks &amp parking lots Minor maintenance of single &amp tandem axle sand trucks Loading of sand and salt onto the sand truck Stock piling of sand in storage bay when required Availability for on-call work during winter months Other duties as required Required Qualifications, Skills and Abilities Grade 12 Education Must hold and maintain a valid Class III BC driver's licence with air endorsement Have experience in operation of tandem and single axle sand trucks Ability to work independently and be self-motivated Ability to communicate effectively in English with other employees, supervisors and the general public Ability to carry out his/her designated duties Ability to be on-call and work shift work (1096518h)
